This is the hilarious moment a lazy panda let an apple escape its grip - then stared angrily at the zookeeper for throwing the fruit too low.

Footage shows the black-and-white bear sitting on top of a tall wooden platform at its enclosure at Chimelong Safari Park, in, Guangzhou, in southern China's Guangdong Province, on August 28.

In the video, a keeper diverted the panda's attention from the bamboo it is chewing on to an apple he is holding in his hand.

The panda, named Mei Qing, was immediately interested in the delicious treat and made a begging noise while keeping its eye locked on the fruit.

But the moment the keeper three the apple in its direction, it bounced off by Mei's hind paws and began rolling off the platform.

The panda slowly turned towards the falling apple but apparently decided it was too far away to try and catch it.
