An elderly man drew crowds with his quirky plunges and passionate pre-dive speeches in northern China.

The video was filmed in Tianjin on August 25.

Recent scenes on the banks of Tianjin's Haihe River, by the Shizilin Bridge, have become an unlikely tourist hotspot. Crowds gather, thick as throngs, to witness an unconventional spectacle, an elderly man, commonly referred to as the "diving grandpa".

Before each plunge, the senior gives impassioned speeches. His motto is "Live for a minute, enjoy for 60 seconds".

And as for their diving styles, they are as varied as they come - from free falls and backflips to mid-air twists.

Tourists are even travelling from far and wide, flocking to Tianjin, all for a glimpse of this diving grandpa in action.
