An unruly billy goat that escaped from a farm bashed a mechanic while rampaging through a repair shop.

The white-horned farm anima broke loose from its leash and wandered into the neighbourhood in Yala province, Thailand, where it entered local Nima Nichi's property on August 24.

CCTV footage shows the three-year-old male animal being chased out by Nima Nichi when he discovered it was already inside the room where his baby was sleeping.

While it quickly left the room where the infant was, the goat became defensive and attacked Nima while he chased it away with a metal rod in the garage.

He kicked the angry animal in a bid to make it leave but it retaliated, biting his weapon and wounding him in his left leg and hip.

The goat's owner, a local farmer, paid Nima's medical bills and apologised for the animal's behaviour. He also promised to keep the aggressive goat in a more secure place to keep it away from neighbour's homes again.

Nima said: 'Now when I work I have to look over my shoulder to make sure there aren't any angry goats coming to attack me.

'I'm tough but those goats are dangerous.'

Goats are generally not aggressive animals, but they can be if they feel threatened or stressed.

They are also highly intelligent animals capable of learning complex tasks, such as solving puzzles and opening latches. They are also very good at recognizing their own names and the names of other goats.
