A drowning disabled dog was rescued from a canal by kind passersby in Thailand.

The black pooch with two paralysed hind legs slipped into the water while playing along the banks in Saraburi province, Thailand on August 5.

Fortunately, resident Anun Ngamprasert and his neighbours noticed the one-year-old stray while he was trying to stay afloat.

Footage shows Moo neck-deep into the water before one of Anun's friends climbed down the banks to save the dog. The good Samaritans took the pooch back to the village where her was fed.

They fondly called exhausted dog Moo and have been caring for him since the rescue.

Anun said: 'We helped the disabled dog that fell into the canal and took it back with us. We fed him and gave him water so he could regain his strength.'
