STORYLINE:

Streets are enlivened by glitzy lanterns in Singapore's famous attractions such as the Gardens by the Bay and Chinatown, to celebrate the upcoming Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, attracting many local residents and international tourists.

SOUNDBITE 1 (English): Australian tourists
"Beautiful, nothing like it. Photos do no justice. It's beautiful. All the hanging balloons and everything's related to the old Chinese culture and incorporating the modern theme in it as well. So it's pretty good."

SOUNDBITE 2 (Chinese): Singaporean resident
"Today, a Malaysian friend came here. I took him here for a stroll to see the decorative lighting of the Mid-Autumn Festival here. It's quite special. The Mid-Autumn Festival is a traditional festival for me. I wish all Chinese people a Happy Mid-Autumn Festival."

The Mid-Autumn Festival, on August 15th of the Chinese lunar calendar, falls on Sept. 29 this year. It is one of the grandest festivals in China.
