SOUNDBITE 5 (Chinese): DUONG THANH DUNG, Student
"The Mid-Autumn Festival is coming. Today, my classmates and I came to Dafa Yao Ethnic Township, Pingle County, Guilin City, to celebrate this traditional festival with the local Yao villagers.
Let's go."

SOUNDBITE 6 (Chinese): MO WENWEN, Mooncake maker
"Hello. Welcome, I'm Mo and I'm going to show you how to make mooncakes today.
(Mo, how long have you been making mooncakes?)
I have been making mooncakes for more than 20 years.
(What's this?)
This is chestnut paste, which is made from chestnuts. The chestnut paste is then stir-fried with butter and sugar.
(I know about chestnuts. We grow them in Thailand, but very few.)
Dafa Yao Ethnic Township is rich in chestnuts with a chestnut-growing history of more than 100 years. Chestnuts bring more incomes and wealth to the local farmers. This is the mooncake we just made, let's have a taste."

Besides mooncakes, local Yao people perform a special dragon dance during the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Xianglong, or fragrant dragon dance, is an intangible cultural heritage with a history of more than 300 years.

SOUNDBITE 7 (Chinese): KORAPIN LINSRI, Student
"Why are you doing the fragrant dragon dance?"

SOUNDBITE 8 (Chinese): QUAN HONGZHI, Village official
"The Mid-Autumn Festival is coming. On every traditional Chinese festival, the Yao people will perform fragrant dragon dances at every household to send blessings to them, wishing them good health and happiness."
