Helmet prevents scooter rider from serious injury after he was hit by falling tree
A helmet prevented a scooter rider from serious injury after he was hit by a falling tree in southern China.
The CCTV footage was filmed in the city of Yangjiang in Guangdong Province on September 14.
An electric scooter rider happened to be passing by, when workers from the Department of Greenery were in the process of felling a roadside tree.
The scooter rider was knocked over by the tree crashing down. But since he was wearing a helmet, and while he was struck by branches and leaves, he emerged unharmed.
Officials from the Department of Greenery were quick to explain that they had already set up warning barriers at the scene, indicating that the rider had disregarded safety precautions and forcefully passed through.
The matter of compensation for the incident is currently under discussion, as both parties attempt to reach a resolution through communication and negotiation.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
