A panda named Meilan was captured taking a bite out of a tourist's lost smartphone in southern China.

Video filmed in Chengdu City in Sichuan Province on September 22, shows Meilan, the curious panda, picking up a smartphone and proceeding to nibble on it, much to the dismay of the surrounding onlookers who erupted in shouts of alarm.

Promptly responding to the incident, the staff at Dujiangyan Panda Valley rushed to assess Meilan's condition.

The personnel at Dujiangyan Panda Valley's information hotline stated that Meilan had undergone a thorough health check after the unexpected dietary adventure and had been deemed healthy.
