Alleged drunk driver slams Mercedes into police car in China
An alleged drunk driver slammed a Mercedes into a police car in southern China.
The video was filmed in the city of Huizhou in Guangdong Province on September 27.
Patrolling officers noticed a black car standing still at a traffic light junction for an extended period, the driver seemingly asleep. This mysterious and unanticipated occurrence prompted the Huizhou City Public Security Bureau of Huicheng District to swiftly assemble police forces to manage the situation.
A police vehicle was strategically positioned in front of the car to prevent any sudden movements and potential accidents, ensuring public safety at the bewildering juncture.
However, in a sudden and bizarre turn of events, the car aggressively launched forward, pushing against the special police vehicle. Police officers at the scene acted immediately, breaking the window to detain the driver, identified as Tong. The tense confrontation didn’t result in any casualties.
Preliminary investigations reveal Tong is suspected of drunk driving and is currently under criminal detention by the public security authorities, following legal procedures. The case is under further investigation.
The video was provided by local media with permission.
