The world’s only brown panda Qi Zai enjoyed a unique Mid-Autumn treat at a panda research centre in northern China.

The video was filmed in the city of Xi'an in Shaanxi Province on September 28.

In the Qinling Panda Research Centre, the staff prepared an extraordinary and exclusive Mid-Autumn feast for Qi Zai.

To add a sense of festivity and tradition, the caretakers artistically used carrots to spell out the Chinese characters for "Mid-Autumn". Embracing the spirit of the festival, they crafted special Chinese cornbread mooncakes using corn flour, soybean flour, and wheat flour, pressed meticulously into specialised moulds.

The caretakers infused an element of joy and play by stuffing bamboo balls with bamboo leaves and Qi Zai's favourite carrot chunks, allowing the unique panda to feast while also indulging in play.

The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Mooncake Festival, is a traditional festival celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month of the Chinese lunisolar calendar with a full moon at night.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
