A high-speed drag boat flipped over during a race along a Thai canal.

The high-speed vessel powered through the waterway and was leading in the competition when its front tip upturned because of being too fast in Samut Sakhon, Thailand, on August 13.

Footage shows the long-tail boat on the forefront with at least 10 ft-distance lead before crashing into the water.

Locals and organisers rushed to help the driver, who fortunately sustained only minor bruises.

Long tail boat racing is a popular sport in Thailand, especially in the central and northeastern regions. The boats are typically made of wood and powered by modified car or truck engines. They can reach speeds of up to 80 mph (130 km/h), making them one of the fastest watercraft in the world.
