This is the shocking moment a car crashed into central barrier and flew in the air on a motorway in Thailand.

Dashcam footage shows a high-speed black SUV cutting across lanes and swerving to the left before it crashed into the concrete block in Bangkok, Thailand, on August 13 evening.

The vehicle was wrecked from the strong impact, with its entire bumper dismantling in front. Its driver and passenger, identified as Charoensak Pinthong, 27, and Wissanukorn Phonrapa, 41, were injured and taken to the hospital where they made a recovery.

Ong Zei, who owns the dashcam, said: 'The video captured before, during, and after the accident. It crashed before the bridge at Lat Krabang intersection heading to Suvarnabhumi Airport.'

Thailand has one of the world's worst road safety records. Ministers have set the goal of reducing fatalities from 32.7 deaths per 100,000 people to 12 per 100,000 people by the year 2027.

However, a lack of road safety education in schools along with notoriously easy driving tests, police failures to enforce road laws, and chronic under-investment in infrastructure, all appear to hamper the efforts.
