This is the amusing moment a motorcycle rider dragged his friend in a rubber tube through flooded roads in Thailand.

The locals went tubing on the muddy water following monsoon rains that left roads swamped in northern Phitsanulok province on October 9.

Footage shows the motorcycle driver powering through the deluge as he dragged along his friend floating on a black rubber tube.

Onlooker Narakorn Yongthum said: 'I was testing the motorcycle to see how it would fare in the high water, but we decided to have fun and play in it too.'

Thailand and neighbouring countries in Southeast Asia are in their annual monsoon rainy season which sees soaring temperatures followed by powerful rain storms in the afternoon leading to widespread flash floods.

Bangkok and large parts of the north and northeast of the country have been swamped with flash floods from tropical thunderstorms.
