This is the amusing moment newlyweds were covered in yellow blossom confetti by well-wishers at their wedding reception.

Footage shows the happy couple - groom Suwat and bride Chirawan - sitting in front of friends and families who threw trays full of plucked Marigold petals over them in Chanthaburi province, Thailand, on October 15.

The pair bowed their heads and put their palms together as a gesture of gratitude, as the flowers meant prosperity in Thai beliefs.

Both groom and bride were buried in plucked Marigolds as well as generous gifts from guests that were sitting behind them.

Wedding photographer Yutthasak Sirikul said: 'The relatives wished for the couple to have a prosperous married life, which is symbolised by marigolds, so they scattered them around. It happened after counting the gifts and dowries.'
