Two workers were praised as heroes after they rescued a six-year-old boy who was trapped on the ledge of a fifth-floor window.

Frightening phone footage shows the boy barely keeping his balance at the edge of the residential building in Linyi, in China's eastern Shandong Province on the morning of October 14.

The danger was spotted by two air conditioner installation workers, Zhang Qingtao and Yang Xiaoqiang, who were having a meal nearby.

Immediately, they rushed over to help and grabbed a safety rope that they used at work. They climbed to the top of the building and used the rope as one of them lowered himself down to the balcony of the apartment where the boy was stuck, while the other held onto the rope.

The one who climbed down then approached the boy from behind and grabbed him tight, then pulled him inside to safety.

Locals praised the two brave workers for risking their own lives to save another.

Upon learning of the incident, the company that they both work at, Midea, also commended the two individuals as a reward for their heorism.

Zhang Qingtao and Yang Xiaoqiang were commended during a ceremony for their outstanding deed that brought honor to the company.

Additionally, Midea stated that Zhang Qingtao and Yang Xiaoqiang are equally diligent and meticulous in their daily work, providing excellent service to every customer.

During the commendation ceremony, besides sending heartfelt care to the two individuals, Midea also expressed that they would use Zhang Qingtao and Yang Xiaoqiang's brave act as an example to inspire all employees.
