Mice were captured running wild on the kitchenware in a noodle shop in southern China.

The disgusting video filmed in Chongqing on October 20 shows several mice nimbly navigating up and down a rack and the exhaust hood. One particularly daring rat even made its way atop the vegetables.

As the person filming approached and made a noise, the pests scurried away in fear.

On October 27, an official from the Jiu Long Po District Market Supervision and Management Bureau revealed that it was found that the individual who captured the footage had previously worked at the noodle shop.

The owner of the establishment allegedly deducted several days' wages from this worker due to work-related issues and the worker has since resigned.

The investigation into the matter is still underway.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
