A total of 6,018 liquor bottles which contained 1,074 litres of alcohol were destroyed under the directions of the District Special Enforcement Officer in southern India's Andhra Pradesh.

This incident happened in an open space behind the Uppalaguptam Police Station in BR Ambedkar Konaseema district on December 26.

Visuals showed scores of liquor bottles piled up on top of each other. The massive heap of liquor bottles was then crushed by an excavator. The driver of the vehicle slammed the excavator bucket repeatedly on the bottles which crushed them to pieces and all the liquor spilled out on the road as a result. Later, the excavator also ran over these bottles, almost grinding them to dust. According to a report, this liquor was seized in 57 different criminal cases from 2019 to September 2021. The value of the destroyed liquor is Rs 8,50,000 (USD 10,201.01).

This took place in the presence of District SP Sri S. Amalapuram DSP Shri M. Ambika Prasad, Amalapuram Assistant Excise Superintendent and Special Enforcement Bureau Shri G. Gangadhara Rao, Uppalaguptam Police Station SI Shri G. Venkateswara Rao, Uppalaguptam under the direction of Additional SP Admin District Special Enforcement Officer Shri S. Khader Bhasha Gari.

The staff of the police station Police Station Staff, Special Enforcement Bureau Staff, local revenue officers, and women police also participated in this.
