The local authorities of Ishikawa Prefecture, the most affected by the earthquake of magnitude 7.6 on Monday, today raised the death toll to 92 and disappeared to 242, with little hope of finding more survivors.

The localities with the most disappeared are two of those hardest hit by the earthquake; Wajima, and Suzu, where it has been confirmed that many homes have collapsed and rescue work continues despite the fact that it has already passed the 72-hour limit after which it is very difficult to find survivors.
