Rare footage of the heart of a dead beached humpback whale being dissected.

The video, filmed on a beach in Oregon, USA, on February 2, shows the large heart being cut open and analysed by experts. The whale washed ashore at the end of January.

According to the filmer, after the autopsy determined that the whale was a juvenile female, approximately one-year-old and 24ft long.

RARE FOOTAGE of experts performing an autopsy and a dissection of a humpback whale on 2/2/16 at the Oregon Coast (Seaside, OR. USA). The heart, stomach, liver, intestines, ovaries and kidneys were identified, removed, dissected and filmed. This is video footage of the heart dissection only. It was determined that the whale was a juvenile female approximately 1 year old and 24 ft. long. No obvious cause of death has yet been determined. Humpback whale research. Beached whale dissection.
