Floods batter bridge as monsoon batters southern Philippines
A gushing river overflowed and wrecked part of a home as monsoon storms battered the southern Philippines.
Footage shows the brown deluge surging through the bridge as it broke banks and collapsed the wall of a wooden house as residents watched from a distance in Davao Oriental province on January 31.
The northeast monsoon and low-pressure area of weather affected the region which caused several national highways and bridges to be damaged while almost 500 individuals were evacuated to temporary shelters.
According to the state weather bureau Pagasa, the province will continue to experience heavy rains until incoming weeks.
