This is the moment a bomb hoax caused chaos on an IndiGo flight in India.

Passengers on the budget flight from Mumbai to Lucknow were furious when a passenger, who appeared to be 'intoxicated,' claimed there was a bomb under his seat on January 26, during the Republic Day celebration in India.

A crew member announced on board: 'It's a protocol that we have to follow as we've offloaded an intoxicated passenger. We request all of you kindly to get up from your seats one by one.'

'After clearing the security you can all come back. We're sorry for any inconvenience, but it's beyond our control. We have to keep it as the top-most priority so please cooperate with us.'

In the video, an irritated passenger onboard the Airbus A320 said: 'Even as a joke, one should never mention the 'B' word on an aircraft.

'One idiot couldn't resist uttering something that should never have been said, but he did. And now, we are all being deplaned and will have to go through security again to board the plane.'

Passengers onboard flight 6E 5264 were asked to disembark and go through security checks again, causing delays. However, no suspicious objects were found.

Police later arrested the 27-year-old passenger and charged him under sections 506(2) and 505(1)(B) of the Indian Penal Code.

An airline spokesman said: 'A call was received at the SpiceJet reservation office about a bomb in the aircraft operating flight SG 8946 from Darbhanga to Delhi. The flight landed safely at Delhi airport at 6 pm and the aircraft was moved to an isolated bay.

'We informed the security officials concerned as soon as we received the call. On checking the flight, we found nothing. We handled things according to airport security rules.'

In a separate incident at Darbhanga airport, another individual falsely claimed a bomb threat due to being late for a flight. The flight landed safely, and the accused faces charges under Sections 506(2) and 507 of the IPC after an investigation.
