Fresh landslides have struck northern India's Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the blockage of the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.

This incident happened in Ramsoo in Ramban district of the state on March 2.

Visuals showed one of these landslides that took place near Higni in Ramsoo where a heap of debris rolled down the hill and onto the road. In no time, a huge mound of rocks and stones along with mud piled on the road, leading to the path being completely blocked.

After an initial burst, the rocks continued to roll down albeit gradually.

As per a report, multiple landslides occurred due to heavy rainfall which has led to the National Highway being blocked at several areas.

The path is a pretty important one as it connects Jammu and Kashmir to the rest of India and officials of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) have deployed the use of heavy machines in removing the gravel and clear traffic. Earlier, snowfall had led to the path being damaged as well.
