A wild monkey rode a tourist's head to rummage through her backpack in southern China.

The video was filmed in Zhangjiajie City in Hunan Province on February 28.

A monkey sat on a woman's head and rummaged through her backpack. The monkey proceeded to open the backpack and toss out clothes and other items, leaving the woman frozen in place.

Concerned bystanders quickly came to her aid, offering her a piece of clothing to shield her face from potential scratches. After thoroughly searching through the contents of the backpack, the monkey left without finding what it was looking for.

Officials from the scenic area responded to the incident, emphasising that the monkeys are protected animals and there are staff members regularly patrolling the area. They advised against bringing large bags into the park to prevent such encounters. They also urged visitors to remain calm and avoid confrontation with the monkeys to prevent any injuries.

对此，景区工作人员表示，猴子是保护动物，一直有工作人员在巡视，这些猴子只是为了翻找食物，景区一般不建议游客背大包进入，若遇到猴子别发生争执它就不会伤人。
