Teenagers rescued from thin ice on Ural River in Orenburg, Russia

Two teenagers in Orenburg, Russia were rescued from the Ural River on March 30th, 2024 after venturing onto thin ice. The 14 and 15 year olds ignored warnings from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and went onto the breaking ice. When the ice began to crumble, they were unable to return to shore. Thankfully, eyewitnesses called for help and rescuers arrived swiftly. Using wooden pallets, they brought the unharmed teenagers back to safety. They were then handed over to the police.
