A rescued loggerhead turtle was returned to the sea in Florida.

Footage shows the marine animal being released by Coast Guard Station Marathon crew members from a boat in Everglades City.

They collaborated with the Turtle Hospital to release Gumbo, the loggerhead sea turtle, back into the wild.

Gumbo was previously admitted to the Turtle Hospital due to injuries sustained from a boat strike and following a period of intensive care and rehabilitation, it made a full recovery.

The Station Marathon crew members, alongside members of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), gathered near Everglades National Park in Southern Florida to witness Gumbo's return to the ocean.
