Footage shows the damage from a storm in Hinds County, Mississippi, on Tuesday, April 9.

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA)has bee providing support and resources to those affected.

In Scott County, one of the hardest-hit areas, 45 homes were damaged and one person died.

MEMA officials confirmed damage to at least 72 homes statewide.

They urged individuals to take proactive measures, including filing insurance claims, documenting the extent of the damage through photographs, and promptly reporting it to county officials using the provided self-report tool.
