A ship carrying 4,907-ton rolled steel sank after colliding with a bridge in southern China.

Video filmed in Foshan City in Guangdong Province on April 22, shows the moment the ship collided with the bridge's pillar.

The Fuzhou-registered vessel, which had set sail from Heshan City bound for Fuzhou City, tragically struck a protective pillar of the bridge. The collision caused the ship to run aground and ultimately sink near Danganzhou Tailwater.

Out of the 11 crew members on board, seven were rescued and four individuals remained missing.

Rescue operations are ongoing in a desperate search for the missing crew.

The preliminary investigation suggests that the accident was triggered by improper navigation due to flood conditions, although further inquiries are underway to ascertain the exact cause of this tragic event.

The video was provided by local media with permission.
