Woman Fails To Give Way, Smashes Expensive Wing Mirror But Drives Off!!

Whilst in Birmingham, I was driving along at below the 30mph speed limit, as we approach a rubbish truck on the other side of the road (where I have right of way), an oncoming VW Golf driver, driven by an elderly lady fails to stop and give way, I brake but she continues at speed and smashes the £400 wing mirror of my BMW M3.

Instead of stopping, she continues driving and so I turn around, as I pass the rubbish lorry you can see what is left of her wing-mirror on the road.

I catchup with her far down the road, take her registration and then wind down my window to ask her to pull over for insurance details, she refuses to stop and continues driving off.

I phone the Police and report a hit-and-run, they investigate and find her responsible, my insurance company accept the Dash-Cam footage as 100% her fault, pursue her and are able to recover full compensation for my wing mirror.

The insurance company commented that without this footage, the claim would have resulted in 50%/50% liability, consequently it would have affected my insurance as well.
