Footage has emerged from the USA of a water spout forming over Chesapeake Bay, Washington.

The video, captured by a man on a fishing trip on July 15, shows the vortex swirling close to the ocean and sucking up water.

Even though tornado warnings were issued, these were lifted shortly afterwards and no damage was reported, according to local media.

While fishing, we watched a thunderstorm pass to the north of us moving rapidly in a ESE direction. At 1123 am I took a photo with my cell phone of what appeared to be the start of a small rotation and dropping of the clouds (funnel). A few minutes later, the funnel descended from the cloud and mad contact with the water. At this point, I started the video of the water spout. From my angle it appeared to head towards Love Point, Maryland and move in a SSE direction towards the Bay Bridge. At one point it appeared as if the water spout may have swung in a SW direction and was heading towards us. The water spout stalled and died out before reaching the bridge.

All the fishing boats around us were watching the spectacle and one boat in particular contained several men that were yelling in excitement and letting everyone around know what was happening.
