Jimmy & Pand - The Proposal
January 2010, Geneseo, NY - Just finishing a 2 day road trip with a couple of huge wins, the Geneseo Hockey team was eager to hit the town. We had just finished watching "Step Brothers" on the bus, which had the boys in the mood for a fun night. Our first stop was "Kelly's Saloon"..
After a few drinks & gaining some liquid confidence, I managed to walk over to the pool table in the back of the bar where a couple of very good looking blonde girls were sitting. However, it seems my fellow teammates had already taken notice and were talking to them... Even better. I had some wingmen around & by now my confidence is through the roof.
"Hannah!! Hey, how are you?"
"Hey there! I'm good.. this is Pam" in her New Zealand accent.
"Pan?!" I quickly responded.
"No, Pam."
"Two M's is it?"
After an immediate "R" rated dismissal from Pam I made one last remark... "There's a 'D' on the end.." to which I got a look I would never forget.
Apparently that didn't work (I don't have the slightest idea why), so I quickly retreated to the bar.
I would find out later that I wasn't the first nor the second person to come up to her that night and try that routine.
What we were all mistaken with, is that she had no idea what we were doing as she had never seen the movie.
To top it all off, she thought I was someone else that night (a very annoying kid from one of her classes).
A disaster which I walked right into.
A few weeks later a bartender at a different bar gave me a jack and coke from "the girl over there, who happens to be my roommate - she is very sorry"
Pam came over & the rest is history
