Instead of heading for a settee and a warm cuppa in her dressing room, Fern Britton stepped into a TV studio corridor for some selfies with her adoring and appreciative fans.

She had just spent a gruelling three hours plus recording the world's first Royal Family quiz show which ITV will be screening in the run up to Christmas, in the shadow of the London Olympic Park.

The 60-year-old presenter is set to make her television comeback with a 'one-off' panel game, 'A Right Royal Quiz' in which two celebrity teams go head-to-head in several rounds as they test their knowledge on the queen and her relatives.

The one-off taster is tipped to become a right Royal hit over Christmas for ITV.

Fern could have relaxed, but she appeared in front of the audience as they walked away along a corridor and, of course, was busy poseing for selfies and autographs.

She had a giggle when this videographer offered to help take a 'selfie' for one lady fan, but pressed the wrong button, and the miffed fan gave the camera to another fan.

Fern quipped, "She's dumped you!"
