Whale rolls around at the beach

Buy video

This gray whale is headed North from Mexico to Alaska and stopped at the beach to roll around, possibly to rub barnacles off. This happened around 10:00am and a few lucky beach goers were surprised to see the whale there. These gray whales have a 12,000 mile annual journey from their feeding grounds in Alaska to their winter/birthing/mating grounds in Baja California, Mexico. This was filmed in Newport Beach, California. Along with credit to Newsflare, please give credit to "Mark Girardeau" and "Newport Coastal Adventure" which is the whale watch company I was on during this encounter.
