Deer rescue in Alaska

A video has emerged of fishermen rescuing a herd of deer which were trying to swim across huge bay in Alaska last week.

Ten Sitka-Blacktailed deer were attempting to make the two-mile journey across the Kiliudia Bay on Kodiak Island on Saturday.

According to fisherman Larry Carroll, the deer decided to turn back just as they were halfway across the bay and began to tire.

One of the animals was struggling so badly that the fishermen hauled it onto their boat and ferried it to dry land.

The fishermen then guided the rest of the herd to shore where they were safely reunited.
