From Fiji on the Coral Coast near Sigatoka, collecting food from the sea is a way of life. And it is a good way. We came across this family hunting sea urchins. Part of the family is out walking the rocky shore during low tide. Others on shore are preparing the catch. After showing us how to prepare/clean one we were given a taste. With a little salt from the sea water, sea urchins are a delicious regular delicacy of every day Fijians. Raw or cooked in the little bowl that they are with tomato, onions and spices.
