Fieldfare defending his bush full of berries
Fieldfare are part of the the thrush family that spend the winter in the UK having migrated from Scandinavia in the Autumn. They spend the winter first feeding on berries and then on the fields to feed on earth worms etc.
This footage shows a male Fieldfare feeding on Cotoneaster berries that have not been eaten earlier in the year. The bird is trying to defend his bush full of berries from other desperately hungry birds in the very cold snowy weather.
