This is the moment a pedestrian rolls over a car's bonnet in busy central London in an apparent failed insurance scam.

Dash cam footage captured in Chinatown in the heart of the capital shows large crowds milling around on a busy Saturday night while cars are stuck in traffic.

As the queue of cars starts to advance, a man runs out in front of one of the slow-moving vehicles and rolls over its bonnet.

According to the filmer, another man appeared almost immediately after the incident and asked the man who rolled over the bonnet if he was OK.

After the filmer alerted the two about his dash cam, they reportedly fled the scene.

The filmer writes: "I rolled down my window and asked him if he was OK and pointed at my dash cam, saying that I have dash cam fitted in my car.

"At this point, the guy just got up and ran into the crowd and to my surprise the other guy who came to help him ran away too."

"The [dash cam] I have is very small in size and hides behind the rearview mirror, so at first you can't spot it."

Well I was driving through China town (wardour street) in London. This part of the road is closed to vehicles till midnight. So even after it opens up for cars to go through there are alot of pedestrians specially on weekends. So I was just sitting in traffic when this guy who was just standing there probably waiting for a victim started running towards my car and then rolled over as to show i had hit him as you could see in the video. So when he was rolling over my car there was another guy who came from no where and started shouting "you ok mate" to him. He came across the street as to assist the guy flat on the floor and was giving the Impression as the only person to have witnessed this from the crowd. At this point I roll down my window and asked him if he was ok and pointed at my dash cam saying that I have dash cam fitted in my car. At this point the guy just got up and ran into the crowd and to my surprise the other guy who came to help him ran away too which suggests that they were both in it and it was planned to have witness aswell or maybe get other people's attention to the supposed incident. They obviously didn't realise that I had a dash cam (goluk t1) fitted in my car because the one I have is very small in size and hides behind the rear view mirror. So in first look you can't spot it.
