Car accident in Frisco, TX

We were on our way to a party at a friend's house. I was driving. My wife was in the front passenger seat. 5yo son and 2yo daughter sitting in the 2nd row seat in the back.

It was just a normal day. I've known these streets for more than 10 years. Nothing crazy ever happens here.

Light turned green. I gently hit the gas pedal and as you can see in the video, the car was picking up speed and crossing the intersection, when I see this car approaching the intersection from the right not slowing down and coming straight towards us, about to t-bone our car.

I had a split second to make a decision. Do I floor it and try to escape the impact? But what if I miss? Either the other car will slam the front passenger's side (my wife) or the left back side (my daughter).

I decided to slam the breaks and swerve to the left hoping and praying that there would be minimum damage because the collision looked inevitable (just gauging by the speed of the other car). I had to go by my instinct.

The driver of the other car slammed her brakes at the last second and luckily, the crash was not deadly. In fact, both vehicles miraculously were still drive-able.

The other driver was apologetic and voluntarily told the police officer that it was her fault. Her insurance paid for everything. All things said and done, the dash cam video wasn't even necessary but definitely paid for itself in my mind because of the peace of mind it guaranteed.
