Bessy, our dog, taking care of baby Aubrey

Buy video

We adopted our sweet dog from the Kingston Humane society a couple years ago. She was very ill and badly injured when she was found with a new litter of puppies and was under the care of a veterinarian at the dog shelter for four months. All of her puppies were adopted and she was well enough to be on the day we visited to choose a dog. We found she had many fears we assume from her traumatic experiences. Amoung them, separation anxiety. She is a very loving dog and very gentle with children . On the day the video was was taken, our grandaughter had stoppedwith our great grandaughter, baby Aubrey. As she was asleep, Jessie brought her in from the car in her safety seat and set her on the floor beside her. As Aubrey was waking up she kicked most of her blanket off. Bessy's take care of the pippies instincts must have kicked in when she weny about the task of placing the blanket back on dear little Aubrey.who seemed to be wuite interested in the task at hand. We have taken many pictures and some videos of Bessy' legacy as a member of our family who nuber 3 adult children, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandvhildren. She is a little jealous of the little children but also has a gentle protective behaviour with them.
