Pokemon Go fans in Germany were left unable to play the game when servers crashed due to a large number of people.

Fans took over Westfalenpark in Dortmund, Germany, on June 30 to explore the newly released safari zone of Pokemon Go.

The event didn’t quite go to plan as the Pokemon server repeatedly crashed on the release day due to the amount of people in the park, according to Newsflare's filmer.

“The event organizers had to apologize several times over the speakers and told people it would be fixed soon and to try to restart and to log in the game again,” writes the filmer.

Pokémon is still a thing, as you can see from this massive crowd that arrived from all over Europe and all kind of age groups are taking part from the very young to the older generation. Pokémon go takes over the beautiful Westfalenpark, one of the biggest inner city Parks, in Europe. The 70 hectares park is located in Dortmund, North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany as the company Niantic, Inc. hosted the event with the support of the city of Dortmund. Thousands of people turned up on this hot sunny day for the Pokémon go and its new safari zone. The queue into the park started in the early hours and didn’t seem to end. At 9 am they opened the 5 entrances, but people didn’t get in until much later as the volume of people just keep coming and they had to do all the security back check. The event didn’t really go to plan as ambulance drivers, food vans getting through the crowds and it caused traffic jams all over the city. With so many people attending the event, this wasn’t the only problem as the Pokémon server crashed under all that pressure. The event organizers had to apologize several times over the speakers and told people it would be fixed soon and to try to restart and to log in the game again. Lots of people got fed up in the end as it wasn’t running as smoothly as it should and decided to go into the City of Dortmund were event was also taking part in the monster hunt. Once in the park the crowd dispersed a bit, looking from above out of the cable car you can see powerbanks to recharge your device, Pokémon stops and queue with people.
