Firefighters continued to battle the fast-moving Holy Fire in Orange County on August 8.

The fire began on the afternoon of August 6, local media reported, erupting in Cleveland National Forest near the Trabuco Canyon area.

Around 600 firefighters and a dozen helicopters conducting water drops have been involved in tackling the blaze. The fire has burned 6,200 acres and forced evacuations in McVicker Canyon, Rice Canyon, Horsethief Canyon, and other neighborhoods in the vicinity. 12 structures have been destroyed as the blaze, fueled by record high temperatures in parts of Southern California, increased its spread.

A 51-year-old man has been arrested in conjunction with starting the fire, which was 5% contained at the time of writing.
