US woman films dolphins beaching themselves to feast on fish
A South Carolina resident captured this remarkable video of bottlenose dolphins beaching themselves to catch fish.
The clip, which was captured at Folly Beach earlier this month, shows the marine mammals performing what is known as 'strand feeding.'
Working together, the dolphins corral fish close to the shore and then charge, driving the fish and themselves out of the water. Once the fish are beached, the dolphins snap them up with ease before slipping back into the sea.
"On this occasion, the dolphin actually waited for me to kick a beached fish back toward him before re-entering the water," said the filmer Ashley Wolfe.
