This road is on my regular commute to and from work. It gets very busy with cyclists and it's not uncommon to have to wait through a couple of changes of the lights to pass through. There are currently temporary road work at this junction in order to build the new London Super Sewer.

I had stopped in the queue of cyclists and was waiting to cross when the cycle lights went green. As they did so, and the queue of cyclists started to move forward, a lorry travelling along the road went to cross the junction at the same time through a red light. The driver spotted the cyclists crossing and hit the brakes hard bringing the lorry to halt across the junction only narrowly missing three cyclists, who had spotted the lorry at the last moment and also stopped.

It would appear that the lorry driver failed to notice the traffic lights, perhaps because they had louvres on them, and his view of the cyclists, and the cyclists view of the lorry, was obscured by the hoardings around the road works.
