Maintenance following an incident in which a Toronto bus crashed into a utility pole on Wednesday (November 14) nearly turned disastrous when a worker cut away a power line he thought was already dead.

This video shows the moment the worker's close call.

According to a local journalist, he did not realise that there was still power running through the high voltage line.

At least 24 people, including the bus driver, were sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after the crash that afternoon. There were no serious injuries.

A TTC bus (Toronto transit commission) bus crashed into a hydro pole and the bus was impaled, 40 people very lucky to only receive minor injuries, a contractor for Toronto hydro was cutting away power lines from the pole that was in the bus and he thought it was all dead but that line was fed from a 2nd source and he got quite the blast when he cut the high voltage lines. He was lucky.
