This footage from a group of tourists that climbed the Acatenango Volcano, which sits next to the Fire Volcano and is joined by a mountain called "La Horqueta" (The Pitchfork), shows the many eruptions that the Fire Volcano has from time to time. From huge plums of smoke and ash, to the lava and pyroclastic flows expelled from the crater, the spectacle that the Fire Volcano shows is amazing, and is an example of the tremendous and terrible force that emanates from deep inside of it. A recent massive eruption in November prompted the evacuation of about 4 thousand people that live in communities close to the volcano, and a deadly eruption in June 3 of 2018, buried the village of San Miguel Los Lotes, and caused the death of more than 100 people and the evacuation of thousands more. The Fire Volcano, also known as Chi Q'aq, mayan word that translates into "Where The Fire Is" is one of the most active volcanoes in America, and has caused various and deadly disasters throughout the history of Guatemala.
