Footage shows fast-moving mud and debris flow as heavy rains strike Holy Fire burn area
Neighborhoods in the Lake Elsinore and Trabuco area of Southern California were hit by heavy rains on Thursday, December 6, forcing authorities to issue mandatory evacuations due to the potential for dangerous mudslides.
This video, filmed at Trabuco Creek in O'Neill Park, shows the rush of mud and debris.
The same areas were placed under a mandatory evacuation a week ago, when the region's first major winter storm produced thunderstorms and intense rainfall that resulted in flooding and mudflows. Several homes were damaged, but no one was injured or trapped.
According to public safety officials, evacuations will be a reoccurring possibility for the duration of the rainy season.
