Neighborhoods in the Lake Elsinore and Trabuco area of Southern California were hit by heavy rains on Thursday, December 6, forcing authorities to issue mandatory evacuations.

The risk of dangerous mudslides was heightened due to the 23,000-acre Holy Fire that affected the same area in August.

This video, filmed at Trabuco Creek in O'Neill Park, shows the rush of mud and debris.

The same areas were placed under a mandatory evacuation a week ago, when the region's first major winter storm produced thunderstorms and intense rainfall that resulted in flooding and mudflows. Several homes were damaged, but no one was injured or trapped.

According to public safety officials, evacuations will be a reoccurring possibility for the duration of the rainy season.
