Beach in England littered with plastic garbage puts local seals in danger
A local resident has filmed the shocking site of a beach full of plastic rubbish in Winterton-on-Sea, Norfolk, endangering local seals frequent.
Captured this afternoon (January 10) a few miles north of Great Yarmouth, local filmer Tim, who only wishes to be known by his first name, came across plastic fishing nets and other rubbish littering the habitat of nearby wildlife.
The video shows a dead seal on the beach (seen here from 23 secs), although it is not known what caused its death.
Last week, a local seal in the area was pictured with a net around its neck oozing blood from the wound, causing concern among the local community.
In the video, Tim explains that wildlife-threatening materials are being swept up and left on the beach after storms and high tides.
The Norfolk man continues up the beach, coming across more seals -
and the worrying sight of much more plastic.
