Dramatic CCTV footage has emerged from China of a bank robber being caught by two off-duty policemen in Zhejiang Province on Sunday.

The robber can be seen approaching a woman at a counter inside the bank and snatching a bag from her hands before he is caught and pinned to the ground by a group of people near the exit.

According to local news reports, the man stole a carrier bag containing 170,000 yuan (around 27,654 US dollars) from the woman who works as an accountant for a local automobile retailer.

Fortunately, two off-duty police officers were in the bank withdrawing cash at the time of the incident and were able to apprehend the robber.

Police and local authorities are continuing their investigations.
