Use of mobile phone while driving - Woman driver texting while driving, removing both hands from steering wheel while driving to text and read her messages! Vehicle drifts towards us as she's busy on her phone! Careless inconsiderate dangerous driving.
We had been delivering sculptures and come from East Finchley area heading north so were already on the M1 from that direction. I was a passenger in the iveco daily van my husband was driving. I noticed a black car alongside of us and was horrified to see the woman texting while driving. She continued long enough for me to take my phone from the dashboard, unlock it, find and activate the camera and take the video. She even took both hands off the steering wheel to carry on texting, and while doing so her vehicle drifted towards us a couple of times! This happened on Monday evening 15th Oct at about 19.11pm as per the video I took. It was on the M1 heading north just up from the M25 and looking at the map afterwards we are pretty sure it was between the M25 on ramp and the Hemel Hempstead off ramp. It was drizzling lightly and the traffic was quite heavy, a constant flow, we were travelling at approximately between 40-50 miles an hour. The lady was and still is unknown to us but she had just past shoulder length brownish coloured hair wearing dark rimmed spectacles - she was driving the vehicle to my left so don't know her height etc. Location was - M1 heading north just up from the M25 - between the M25 on ramp and the Hemel Hempstead off ramp. See my video for more details.
