A woman in London was feeling a sharp sting and she slapped this strange bug with long stinger off her leg!

One summers evening, I was in the kitchen about to start dinner, I could feel a scratch on the side of my leg, so I instinctively used my hands to slap the irritation away. I then saw the size of the bug and it’s stinger! It was approx 1” tall. As the insect was wounded, I grabbed a small container and quickly put it inside and called my children 9 and 7 years old to show them, they couldn’t believe it!

Around this time, my partner and my son had both been bitten a couple of times, the bites were becoming infected so we were already on high alert for mosquitos and other stinging insects so I took a video to share with our GP. To this day, we still don’t know if this mysterious bug was the cause of the infections my partner experienced. He was hospitalised for 5 days from a mysterious bite which developed into an infection! Both he and my son were on antibiotics. I think I still have the sample if any specialists out there wants to help us identify this insect.
